Day to day
Cloud services and server migration
There is a server humming in a cupboard that nobody wants to touch, and everyone quietly hopes it lasts another year.
What we do
How we handle it.
Not every business needs to be fully in the cloud, and we will tell you honestly if yours does not. Where it makes sense, we move your files, applications and email somewhere you can reach them from anywhere, and we take the cupboard out of the equation.
What’s included
- An honest assessment of what should move and what should not
- File server migration to SharePoint or Azure
- Cloud desktops for staff who need a full Windows machine anywhere
- Azure and Microsoft 365 tenant setup and management
- Line-of-business applications moved or rehosted
- Cost monitoring so cloud spend does not quietly creep
- Ongoing management once the migration is done
Good to know
Three things worth knowing before you ask.
Cost, in advance
Cloud bills surprise people. We model your monthly running cost before anything moves, so you are agreeing to a number, not a direction.
Migration in stages
We move one department or one system at a time. If something is wrong we find it on a small group, not on everyone at once.
Sometimes the answer is no
If a local server is genuinely the cheaper and better option for you, we will say so. We would rather keep a client than win a project.
Questions
Cloud services, answered.
Will moving to the cloud cost us more each month?
Your monthly bill usually goes up, because you stop buying a server every five years and start paying for it monthly instead. We model the total five-year cost both ways before anything moves, so you are comparing like with like rather than a monthly figure against a forgotten capital purchase.
What happens to our old server?
We keep it running until we have confirmed everything moved correctly, then decommission it properly — wiped to standard, certified, and recycled. If it still has useful life we will tell you what it could be repurposed for.
How do we get a price?
Start with a free IT review. We look at what you have, agree what you actually need, and send a written quote at a fixed price. There is no charge for the review and no obligation afterwards.
Do we have to be on a support plan?
No. We take on individual projects for businesses that already have IT support elsewhere. Plenty of clients start with one project and move onto a plan later.
